Currently we are under contract with our client seeking an experienced Physician Assistant-PA responsible as the clinical lead for their project Partnership to Advance Tribal Health-PATH. This project is designed to improve health care for American Indians and Alaska Natives specific to the quality of care in the 26 Indian Health Services hospitals across eight states.

The PATH PA is responsible to the Executive Director with links to all company medical directors, Vice President, Medical Affairs and other senior leaders and staff.


  • Participates on the PATH project team by providing clinical perspective, guidance and attending meetings as necessary
  • Provides clinical consultation to the project teams in all 8 states on clinical quality improvement
  • Acts as a liaison to the Indian Health Services (IHS) hospitals
  • Participates on any aspect of the project process as requested by the team including planning, research, design, documentation, implementation and evaluation
  • Makes presentations to physicians, health care providers and consumers
  • Serves as faculty for Project ECHO QI clinics related to the project
  • Keeps current on clinical issues, quality improvement/human factors theory and application, medical legislation and community issues
  • Understands and adheres to Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program and related policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Understands and effectively communicates company mission, vision and values to a variety of audiences, both external and internal.
  • Participates in internal quality improvement activities as appropriate




       PA degree from an accredited school, Board eligible, preferably Board Certified

  • Practice experience.
  • Broad knowledge of medical practice and the IHS medical community is desired but NOT required.
  • Licensed to practice in New Mexico
  • Unrestricted clinical license
  • Some limited travel

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Two years of experience and skill in word processing, basic spreadsheet and presentation software applications; familiarity with database software programs (Microsoft Office).
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks in a team environment
  • Demonstrated abilities in organization and leadership. Able to function as participant or leader in multi-disciplinary team environment whether internal or external.
  • Quality improvement and human factors theory, methods, and tools

  • Presentation techniques
  • Researching clinical topics and interpreting clinical information
  • Deal effectively with personnel outside the organization


This opening is a full-time position (30 hours per week) with an excellent compensation package including top salary, bonus-profit sharing, 403b, health benefits and much more.

Our Client

Our client is a 40+ year old privately held, financially strong, not-for-profit operation in 8 western states. Their primary focus is working with CMS, Medicaid, Medicare and IHS on healthcare initiatives regarding quality of care and preventative health issues.
